Syah is a small, intimate, and unique experiential dining restaurant based on the concepts of farm to table and foraging. Nestled in the foothills of Aravali at the city of lakes, Udaipur, SYAH has redefined fine dining in its own style - a 10-course tasting menu that showcases the beauty of seasonal and local ingredients.

SYAH operates on a reservation-only basis, ensuring that every guest receives the utmost attention and care. This exclusive approach allows the staff to prepare meticulously for each diner, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and personalized service.

Our Story

Idea of a tasting menu restaurant came in year 2015 with World Whisky Day event at Dramz, New Delhi. Pankaj was heading the Kitchen team and Deepak was leading Operations and Marketing, event was a success and based on the feedback, we refined the concept further but had to find a new location for our restaurant. That’s when opportunity of Ladakh came in Chef Pankaj took the lead…

► Ladakh - Syah came into existence 7 years back in 2016 with Ladakh as its first destination and within 2 years we got featured in Conde Nast as “the most exciting culinary experience in Ladakh”.

► Udaipur – Syah opens in the city of lakes in 2019 with a view of the Sajjangarh fort and the beautiful Aravali highlands on each side. Syah is located outside of any city activity and is around 6 KM from the major city centre. The restaurant, which serves a 10-course tasting menu made with fresh and local foods, is situated in the middle of a farm.

Meet Founders

Syah Udaipur, was brought to life through the vision and passion of its dedicated founder. With a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage and flavors of Udaipur, they embarked on a culinary journey to create a restaurant that would celebrate the essence of the region. Combined their love for local traditions and their culinary expertise to establish Syah as a place where authentic flavors and a vibrant atmosphere converge. Their commitment to using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, as well as their dedication to creating exceptional dining experiences, have set Syah apart as a beloved destination for both locals and visitors.
